Dr. Nicolle Carr PhD, BCBA, LBA
CEO
Dr. Nicolle Carr grew up in a small town in Oklahoma playing sports and reading. She received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Oklahoma City University before attending the University of Texas’s Psychology / Behavior Neuroscience department working in two labs on the effect of conditioning on the mating behavior of quail and genetic sequencing, brain cutting and metabolic imaging related to maternal rat behavior. She served as an Asst. Director for Clinical Services at a residential treatment facility for behaviorally challenged individuals with a variety of diagnoses, and went back to school in 2008 to become a BCBA.
Nicole taught at over 15 universities for more than 20 years, both online and in person before overseeing the ABA program at the University of Oklahoma for a few years. She has published two books in the ABA space – one for teachers and one on ethics. Most recently, she became the CEO of Mindful Play ABA in NW Oklahoma City.
For fun, Nicolle enjoys tasting wines, traveling and doing puzzles. A fun fact: in June 2014, 2016 and 2018, she and her husband hiked a 210 mile pilgrimage from the middle of Spain to the bones of St. James in Santiago de Compostela (check out the movie The Way and you will see the trip). In July 2022, they summited Kilimanjaro!
